She nose what she's doing...

Apparently, Claire has gotten tired of being pushed around by her big sister. Claire's tired of being poked with Barbie legs, getting hit in the head with toys, and slammed into the floor like a weak wrestler. Claire, has taken up BITING. Claire bites everything. Much like the baby of "Lemony Snicket" fame, everything goes into Clairey's mouth--food, toys, an arm, a NOSE...

While at our friends' home the other evening, a terrible shriek (followed by a great wail) arose from the back bedroom. Scott ran in there, just in time to see Claire attached to Jenna's face--her teeth set in Jenna's nose.

Piranha comes to mind, but then again, so does Hannibal Lecter.

Jenna was never a biter, so we're not exactly sure what to do with Claire. Yelling, "NO BITE!" doesn't seem to be working, as she just looks at you while sinking her teeth into her latest victim--usually, and unfortunately, Jenna. I know biting is wrong, and I certainly don't want Clairey to do it, but it's really hard to look at Jenna without saying, "WELL! What did you expect? You just hit her in the head with a plastic cow!"

My sister was a biter. My mother held her once and had me bite her back. Hard.
She stopped after that.

I was a biter..a bad one. I almost bit part of a girls cheek off once. My mom said one day, another little girl bit the crap out of me and I never did it again.

When I was around four, I bit my sister on the leg b/c she "kicked" me while innocently in the swing. My Mom was always an eye-for-an-eye disciplinarian . . . so, she grabbed my leg and bit me exactly where I bit Sher (only much harder). I never bit her again.

Oh, did I tell you that my Mom got sick of telling me to lock the front door in elementary school. So, she made me stand there for an hour - open, shut, lock, repeat, repeat, repeat . . . :<) - Amy

yeah, it's not the words a loving mother ever wants to hear, but i'm going to say it anyway... Bites hurt and it's your job to make sure she never does it again... 3 of my 10 kids were biters. I grabbed the offending child and bit them in response. Not one of them EVER bit another kid again. Sometimes, it's the only way they learn.

Apparently, I enjoyed the occasional nibble as a small child. I once bit my mother really hard on her hand, and she bit me right back. To quote her, "That cured you right good." I'm not saying to have Jenna bite Claire, though. But, it seems to work.
